About the Role

Qatar Airways is looking for an innovative and detail-oriented Procurement Optimization Specialist to join our team in Ahmedabad, India. As part of our dynamic Procurement and Logistics Department, you will be responsible for enhancing operational efficiency by automating reporting, optimizing workflows, and acting as the key liaison for sourcing systems and tools. Your insights and data-driven solutions will empower category managers and leadership teams to make better decisions and achieve performance excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Optimization Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Process & Reporting Automation:

    • Develop automated data structures to enable operational transparency within shared services.

    • Design, test, and implement automated dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools to streamline sourcing execution reports.

    • Lead performance analysis and create insightful reports for senior and executive management.

  • System & Tool Optimization:

    • Serve as the single point of contact for sourcing-related tools, system enhancements, and improvements.

    • Act as administrator and super user for procurement systems and platforms.

    • Redesign and manage the Procurement SharePoint, ensuring secure access and data integrity.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Lead the sourcing improvement forum and coordinate with category managers to drive performance improvements.

    • Partner with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to ensure database compliance and develop procurement-led BI dashboards.

    • Support GBS and service line leaders in implementing sustainable and impactful process enhancements.

  • Strategic Initiatives & Process Excellence:

    • Apply CASE principles (Centralize, Automate, Simplify, Eliminate) to streamline procurement workflows.

    • Lead data-led process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

    • Conduct benchmarking to measure procurement performance against global standards and best practices.

    • Translate complex datasets into meaningful implementation strategies that enhance decision-making and service delivery.

What You Bring to the Table

We are seeking someone with a blend of technical expertise, analytical ability, and process improvement mindset. To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

    • Minimum of 4 years of job-related experience, especially in service delivery, process improvement, or procurement.

  • Technical & Analytical Skills:

    • Proficiency in SQL, database programming (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc.).

    • Strong experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.

    • Background in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning, or AI is highly desirable.

    • Familiarity with Celonis or other process mining tools is a plus.

  • Process Improvement Acumen:

    • Lean Six Sigma qualification.

    • Experience with developing and implementing automated reporting solutions.

    • Proven ability to analyze large datasets with attention to accuracy and actionable insights.

  • Communication & Leadership:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders.
